ABOUT THE SHOW

“Something for the Boys” is being done as a Concert Version. This is the first time “Something for the Boys” been presented on the West Coast, and it is with the permission and enthusiastic encouragement of the Cole Porter, Herbert Fields and Dorothy Fields’ family trusts. It contains the song “I’m in Love with a Soldier Boy” which was Betty Garrett’s first Broadway solo, which will be sung by her granddaughter Madison Claire Parks. The Concert celebrates Betty, illustrates how Theatre West passes theatrical wisdom down through generations of artists, and supports the continuation of the Betty Garrett Musical Comedy Workshop.

Major underwriting from the Lloyd E. Rigler – Lawrence E. Deutsch Foundation with Support from Norman and Lyn Lear.

“Something for the Boys” marks the beginning of a new annual musical presentation by Theatre West in honor of Betty Garrett.
